הווה פשוט

פעולות קבועות, הרגלים ועובדות. בגוף שלישי יחיד (he/she/it) מוסיפים ‎-s.

פעולה שהתרחשה והסתיימה בעבר. בפעלים רגילים מוסיפים ‎-ed; בפעלים חריגים יש צורת עבר משלהם.

הווה פשוט · Present Simple

I / you / we / they + base · he / she / it + base + ‑s

הצורה הבסיסית לכל הגופים, חוץ מגוף שלישי יחיד שמוסיף ‎-s. שימוש: הרגלים, עובדות, לוחות זמנים.

כללי איות ל־‎-s: אחרי s, sh, ch, x, o מוסיפים ‎-es (go → goes). פועל שמסתיים ב־עיצור + ‎y הופך ל־‎-ies (study → studies).

עבר פשוט · Past Simple

רגיל: base + ‑ed · חריג: צורת עבר ייחודית

לכל הגופים אותה צורה. פעלים רגילים: ‎work → worked, live → lived, study → studied. פעלים חריגים חייבים לשנן:

זמן קל במיוחד: ‎will קבוע לכל הגופים, והפועל נשאר בצורת הבסיס — I will go, she will go, they will go.

הווה מושלם · Present Perfect

have / has + past participle (V3)

‎have לכל הגופים, ‎has לגוף שלישי יחיד. ה־Participle של פעלים רגילים זהה לעבר (‎-ed), אך לפעלים חריגים יש צורת V3 משלהם: go → gone, see → seen, write → written, eat → eaten. שימוש: פעולה מהעבר שרלוונטית עכשיו, או ניסיון חיים.

הווה מתמשך · Present Continuous

am / is / are + verb‑ing

‎am ל־I, ‎is לגוף שלישי יחיד, ‎are לשאר. מתאר מה שקורה ממש עכשיו: I am eating, she is working.

כללי איות ל־‎-ing: ‎e שותקת נעלמת (write → writing, live → living); לעיתים מכפילים את העיצור האחרון (get → getting).
